Configuring chat to work as a broadcast feature
For Premium and Enterprise customers the ability to send messages in chat can be restricted to groups of users. Users can then be given read only access to the chat, which changes the chat icon to read "Notifications". To achieve this the following steps must be done:
- Ensure chat is enabled in the organisation in Admin->Settings in the ECH
- In Admin->Permissions create a new role called "VIP" or "Special Guest" - this is the role you will assign users who can only receive
- Ensure this new role doesn't have the permission "Send Message"
- Create users with the new role and the "Guest" role - this will lock down their access further
- Make sure your coordinators have a user with the permission "Send Message"
With these steps carried out, you can send messages to your audience, with no risk of response 😀!
