General Address Entry

Addresses are important for your team, so we've tried to ensure we give maximum flexibility when setting up events to always say exactly where they are happening. EventR Coordinator allows you to enter addresses in a variety of ways:

From an address lookup by name
From clicking on a map
Typing in an address manually, and setting the location seperately

A basic address entry looks like this:

You can type in an address, and it will suggest entries. Unfortunately this does not always suffice, so clicking on the green Pin icon on the right opens the detailed address picker:

This allows you to search for an address, or alternatively type in an exact address as you want it to appear. Navigating the map and clicking will set the address based on where the red pin is. The Padlock icon at the top if its closed will lock the address fields, so that you can click on a different spot to where the address actually is. This can be handy if its a very large space associated such as a conference centre with a specific point you need to tell people about.

"Open in Maps" will open Google Maps in another tab, so you can check it looks ok outside the app.

How to copy Google Maps addresses into the ECH quickly

Google Maps is often used to find addresses. Our database is OpenStreetMap's so they might not line up. However we have a power user feature to enable you to quickly copy a map location from google maps (or anywhere that gives a lat-long). To use this in Google maps, first find the location you want to put in EventR and press right mouse button:

Click on the two numbers entry as shown in the image above, and it will be copied to the clipboard.

Now return to an EventR map detail screen, select the Latitude field and paste (Control/Cmd-V or right mouse button paste) into the field. Now the location will match Google precisely.
